Job Description:

Out client a leading Communications Company, are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Officer and will be responsible for the contractual/commercial management of a large European project with the responsibility for commercial management of more than 10 subcontractors.

Responsibility:

For input and agreement through project and management of the commercial strategy for the preparation of change notes for submission to the Customer, including receipt and evaluation of subcontractor change notes. Subsequent negotiation of such change notes with the Customer and subcontractor and contractual implementation within the current contract baseline.

Responsibility for the management and reporting of accurate financial data, including contract value and changes. Invoices processed and sales achieved.

The preparation of quotations and commercial proposals for bids submitted by the Business Unit, including preparation of appropriate Astrium UK Terms and Conditions and/or review of customers' contract conditions.

Liaison with departments including Business Development/Engineering/Finance/Treasury/Legal and where necessary other Astrium business directorates, to ensure consistency of the Commercial Proposal with the overall bid, and the relevant Business approvals.

Ability to sign CCNs/contracts/subcontracts/ATP to the value of €1,000,000 under normal contract approval process.

Co-ordinate where appropriate subcontractor selection process and evaluate. Prepare subcontracts, which reflect the prime contract obligations and undertakings and with project team negotiate and implement such subcontracts within vetted approvals. Administer such subcontracts as necessary.

Commercial input to vet documents and checking that all the necessary management approvals have been obtained prior to quoting.

Lead negotiations with the customer on medium to large deals. Assist Commercial Manager with larger negotiations as appropriate.

Preparation for approval by the Commercial Manager of commercial Agreements, including Consortium, Collaboration, Confidentiality, Joint Venture, Manufacturing, Software Licensing and Marketing, in accordance with company instructions and standards.

On receipt of contract, undertake a review, negotiation and acceptance of Order/Contract along side the Project team. Ensure subsequently release authorisation and dissemination of information to enable work to commence.

Formulate along side Bid/Project teams strategy for margin improvement and mitigation of commercial risks.

Assist Commercial Manager with departmental process improvement activities.

Due to the nature of the work undertaken the ideal candidate will have to undergo a Basic Security Clearance and people who have current SC Clearance would be of particular interest
