Our direct client in Irvine, CA is seeking several Storage Systems Administrators for 18-month contracts.This position's general responsibilities/duties include:
Diagnose and analyze system and storage related issues and recommend appropriate solutions based on knowledge of the appropriate systems and systems software. Provide application support and communicate periodically with users on systems status, including system changes, problems, enhancements, and potential impacts. Perform planning and troubleshooting for Netbackup infrastructure Support enterprise Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and Tape Backup/Restore technology in a mission critical environment. Support UNIX and Wintel admins day to day and team with data center operations, production support and escalation teams.

Overtime : straight time
- 4+ years experience with minimum of 2 years administrating and troubleshooting in a NetBackup 7.x environment on unix and windows
- experience supporting EMC, HDS, or similar high-end and mid-range SAN Arrays including LUN allocation/masking, performance, capacity management and remote replication.
- experience supporting Network Attached Storage.
- enterprise or equivalent enterprise backup/restore tools included setup of new policies/schedules, setup tape pools, restore data to UNIX and Wintel serves.
- experience performing 1st, 2nd & 3rd level 24x7 production support on system administration, storage, or tape backup environments.
- experience performing 24x7 production support.
- must have administrated NetBackup in large environments 1000+ clients
- must be fluent in the NetBackup CLI and troubleshooting
- strong Scripting skills and be able to create/enhance NetBackup operational and administrative scripts
- strong experience with NetBackup in a SAN environment and SSO on UNIX/Linux/Windows platforms
- have broad and deep experience configuring backup storage hardware including tape libraries, tape drives, NDMP, and disk storage units within NetBackup
- experience with MSDP, Data Domain and SLPs using NetBackup
- experience adding and decommissioning media Servers in NetBackup 7.x
- experience configuring NetBackup for VMware Consolidated Backups
- strong Windows client support experience
- knowledge of McData and Brocade SAN Directors/Switches zoning
- VMAX and NAS allocation/de-allocation Operation support and troubleshooting
- Available for off-hour and weekend on-call rotation
