Description
Our high-visibility international client is looking for Storage Operations Specialist for their office in Orlando, Florida. This person will provide day-to-day operational support, configuration, troubleshooting, reporting, and daily management of storage operations in a complex environment. The typical environment for this position contains one or two platforms of storage hardware, client software, and other infrastructure products. This role will be responsible for ongoing improvement of processes and applying best practices for the environment, set by client standard.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shares ownership of operational responsibility for storage provisioning and availability at the customer site(s) with the Customer Storage Manager.
- Provisions storage based on standardized procedures detailed in the Operational Run Book and to meet customer agreed upon standards.
- Responsible for configuration and layout of storage infrastructure.
- Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with client's and customer's change management policies.
- Performs necessary data migration as required and defined by client migration practices.
- Provides analysis of Environment and Best Practice knowledge transfer.
- Generates regular operations reports using customer supplied tools
- Recommends changes to procedures which result in operational optimization.
- Participates in Root Cause Analysis reviews when applicable.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments
- Knowledge of job associated programming and Scripting languages
- Strong product/technology/industry knowledge
- Knowledge of job associated database/software/documentation
- Strong consultative skills
- Cross-functional skill
