Web UI Developer - HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Mobile
A Web UI Developer is required to utilise their Front End Skills (HTML5, CSS, Javascript) to work on a major greenfield project for one of the world's largest IT Companies. My client are looking for a self-motivated and resourceful Web UI Developer (HTML5, CSS, Javascript)to join a quality-oriented team specialised in the creating highly innovative applications for their market leading enterprise store.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an understanding of their enterprise collaboration platform and its supporting technologies.
- Work with engineering and client stakeholders to design, develop and deploy high quality user interfaces for web portlets and mobile applications for use within the enterprise.
- Implement standards compliant web/mobile-web applications combining rich (HTML5, CSS3) web user interfaces with supporting web services.
- Focus on quality and scalability to ensure an excellent end-user experience.
- Work within an Agile development process, applying team software quality practices including test driven development and continuous integration.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of team software development processes, practices and tooling, to ensure efficient portlet development and ongoing maintenance.
You will have:
- 5-10 years of industry experience creating and rolling out applications.
- 5+ years' experience designing and implementing web user interfaces, including large scale deployments (100K + users).
- Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrable ability to share ideas, concepts and vision with a wide variety of project stakeholders.
- 5+ year's hands-on commercial software development experience.
- Strong Object-Oriented analysis design and development skills.
- Experience of the full development life cycle, ideally within an Agile-like development process.
- Experience with code quality practices including unit testing, design & code reviews.
- Familiarity with and experience of integrating with RESTful Back End web services.
- Mobile app/web application development experience would be an advantage.
Programming Languages and Technologies
Required:
- Expert Javascript, CSS and HTML skills
- AJAX, JSON, XML and at least one open source Javascript library.
- Deep knowledge of Dojo or Jquery.
- Experience with at least one other programming language (eg Java, C++ etc)
Highly Desirable:
- HTML5, CSS, Javascript
- Tools: Firebug, Eclipse, Rally, Maven, Hudson, Subversion, JTest, Selenium
- RESTful Web Services
- Familiarity with building for mobile devices
- Experience with JQuery mobile
Desirable:
- Mobile web toolkits
- Java, J2EE (JSP, Servlets)
- Spring, Hibernate, Log4J
- Web Protocols: HTTP, SOAP and REST
- Tomcat and/or IBM WebSphere, Apache Web Server.
- Standards based portal development experience eg Liferay, WebSphere PS etc.
- Collaboration Technologies: WIKI's, blogs, forums etc.
