Mainframe z/OS Systems ProgrammerMainframe z/OS Systems Programmer required to provide support for a Data Centre relocation activities.
This is an ACT/NSW - Canberra/Sydney based opportunity
NV1 Australian Federal Government security clearance required which requires candidates to hold Australian Citizenship.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall IBM Mainframe technical expertise.
- Provide Mainframe technical systems support to other Mainframe support teams.
- Provide technical consultation to the Client, internal HP stakeholders, and 3rd party vendors.
- Prepare and maintain technical documents.
- Provide Operations support
- Provide/review technical design documents as required
- Work with and under the direction of the Project/Technical Manager and with customer nominated representatives.
- Assist with Disaster recovery testing and procedures.
- Support monitoring and automation of Mainframe environment
- Minimum 5 years Mainframe z/OS systems programming technical support experience.
- Experience in navigation and use of Mainframe Hardware Management Console (HMC)
- Mainframe z/OS & associated system/ISV software installation and maintenance
- Mainframe hardware configuration (HCD)
- Knowledge of and experience with DF/SMS for DASD management
- Knowledge of and experience with virtual tape technology
- Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as, REXX, SAS.
- Demonstrated problem solving and resolution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team player. Must have a positive attitude with a 'can do' approach.
- Must have a strong Customer focus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate technical details into concise and easy to understand written form.
- IBM CCL running under z/VM and zLinux
- Mainframe alerting and automation (CA Solve Operations)
- Mainframe Batch job scheduling (IBM TWS).
- Knowledge of Mainframe performance tuning, capacity reporting.
