Description
Fantastic long term contract opportunity for an experienced Solutions Architect with at least 3 years previous Java software development experience and at least 1 years solutions architect experience with a minimum overall engineering experience of 5 years. This Solution architect position will be offered on a 12 month contract and can be renewed annually.
You will work on large, complex, safety critical, highly available Air traffic control systems. Your role will comprise of Requirements analysis, Design of the technical solution, Technical follow-up of development and Prototyping. You will be tasked with the ellaboration of requirements and design. The work includes overall definition of the service requirements and overall design of the solution with detailed focus on the design of the service layer components, the client application.
The successful applicant will possess the following:
At least 5 years of engineering experience, at least 1 year experience as software architect of large mission critical systems, at least 3 years experience as Java software developer in large software development projects, experience in requirements analysis and use case modelling, experience in HMI usability aspects, strong architecture and design skills, very good interpersonal skills to communicate with the stakeholders (users, architects, developers, testers, support teams, ), very good technical writing and presentation skills. Additionally this profile shall comprise architectural experience in several of the following domains: Safety critical systems, high availability systems, Real Time, mission critical systems, Data architecture, Datamodelling, DB tools, DB design (Oracle, SQL), storage, backup, Object Oriented methodology, design patterns, Web technologies like web Servers, application Servers (Weblogic), collaboration tools, content management systems, web services. GWT, Javascript and HTML 5.
This is an excellent contract that can run for many years, paying a contractor rate for a very secure position, based in a very comfortable, cosmopolitan, working environment. The working language written and oral is English but some French is useful for living in Brussels.
