We are currently in need of a San Storage Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity in Canberra. This is a longe term opportunity to work within a global company. This particular role will involve holding some sort of clearance as it will be necessary for this project.
Role responsibilities
HP Proliant server hardware
. Understanding of HP Proliant Blade systems.
. Understanding of HP Proliant DL/ML Servers.
. Configure server hardware and related options.
. Installation and configuration C-Class blade enclosures.
. Able to install and the required Operating Systems using SmartStart.
. Server maintenance and repair.
. Racking/cabling/labelling server hardware.
Operating systems
. Windows .
. Redhat.
Tape Storage
. Understanding of tape libraries and tape drives
. Veritas backup software
. EMC Network back software
. Maintenance and repair
HP San/Storage Support
. Installation and commissioning of EVA & SAN hardware using HP service manuals.
. Supporting and maintaining SAN EVA hardware and able to replace failed components, eg disk, controller, shelf, switch.
. Upgrade xcs code & eva diskdrive firmware and a understanding of the pre-reqs required for upgrading xcs configuration Be able to Upgrade FOS, and what tools one would use to upgrade FOS.
. SAN Configuration including fibre channel Switches, be able to implement zoning etc
. Understand how to provision eva Diskgroups/Vdisk, and understand the I/O profile that the luns will be subject to, Understand how to group luns into DRgroups.
. Understand eva performance monitoring and be able to produce eva performance reports.
. Understand multipathing software, and load balancing policies.
. Understand CA and be able to configure CA and perform EVA failovers
. Be able to troubleshoot an unresponsive EVA with respect to CV-EVA.
. Be able to use SPOCK to confirm the Servers and storage array are conformant.
. Be aware of and be able to use HBAnywhere/SANsurfer and Storage Explorer (Windows 2008).
. Understand the concept of RSS's and their importance.
. Provide server hardware, cabling, software and storage quotations.
. Provide sales technical support to the customer.
. Work with procurement team to provide third party quotations
. Provide technical support for large projects.. Design new san solutions.
