The Sample Lab Compounder will blend chemicals in a precise manner to create flavor or fragrance product.

Summary: Perform the duties required for the production of product according to the company's safety, quality, housekeeping, service (punctuality) and cost standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Blend chemicals in a precise manner to create flavor or fragrance product.
2. Knowledge of compounding and an understanding of special formula instructions.
3. Verification of age and quality of all materials used in a formula.
4. Operation of department pumps, filters, scales and computer systems.
5. Utilize a computer for detailed formula information and availability of raw materials.
6. Understand all safety, quality and operational procedures, tools. equipment, electronic/computer systems used in compounding and container filling.
7. Understand all procedures used to verify and record information during compounding and container filling.
8. Knowledge of Quality Control requirements for sampling and product testing.
9. Operate a forklift.
10. Perform other duties as required.
11. Keep work area clean and neat.
12. Performance of the duties of the order filler (packer)as required.
13. Be proficient and certified in a minimum of 3 compounding areas or pieces of equipment (example: Small, medium, large, C2, C4, powders, etc). Should be achieved within 1 year to 18 months minimum.

Job Description:
Qualifications:
1. High School graduate
2. Knowledge of basic mathematics - conversion of matric to English measure, Density/SPG calculations
3. Knowledge in the operation and use of the computer and various application programs.
4. Ability to lift 50 lbs, or more.
5. Forklift experience helpful.
6. Must be clean-shaven (no beard)
7. Must be able to pass the company- subsidized annual physical examination to determine physical fitness for use of a respirator.
8. Must be able to pass the annual respiratory protection training necessary for understanding and skill in the use of the respiratory equipment.
9. Equipment operator experience in a manufacturing environment.
10. Prior experience handling chemicals.
11. Years of compounding/packing = 1-3 years minimum
12. Prior experience with SAP would be preferred.
