Description:
Work as part of a project team to generate high-quality data in support of identifying lead compounds and advancing toward development of potential candidates for medicines. The ideal candidate will perform research in the following areas of ion channel drug discovery: assay development and drug candidate evaluation on various medium and high throughput isotope flux, fluorescence and/or automated electrophysiology platforms. Will summarize data and provide updates to supervisor and project teams. In addition, will contribute to the development of new processes and assay methodologies that will improve the productivity and scientific impact of the working group

Technical Skills & Duties
- Experience in the development and execution of functional cell based assays.
- Experience with automated and Workstation screening equipment (liquid handling systems, plate readers and automated data analysis)
- Operational experience with conventional and/or automated electrophysiology platforms desired.
- Cellular biology techniques including aseptic cell culture methodologies a plus.
- Strong attention to detail is required

Business Skills and Knowledge
- Good communication, organizational, record keeping and computer literacy skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team within a Matrix working environment.
