Overview of Role:
An opportunity has now arisen for a Civil PDMS Designer to work within the existing Nuclear operating unit of the Power and Process Division for our client. Accountable to the Civil/Structural Discipline Manager, you will be responsible for preparing studies and design/drafting/CAD work to ensure effective and consistent production of drafting deliverables in accordance with engineering specifications and designs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Lead Engineer in preparing and updating the detailed programme for performance of structural work to meet overall project requirement.
Assist the Lead Engineer in the preparation of Project Control reports.
Assist the Lead Engineer in the multi-discipline co-ordination of the project.
Inform Lead Engineer of all CAD hardware/software for project needs.
Support the maintenance and update of civil material database.
Preparation of general arrangements and detail drawings and relevant material schedules.
Production of all drawings in accordance with corporate and project procedures.
Preparation of Material Take Off documents and schedules.
Support site meetings and undertake site surveys.
Ensure all corporate and project procedures are applied to the drafting work.
Maintain interface with the CAD development group to maximise effectiveness of CAD work on the project.
To read, understand and implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the Company and area Safety Management System documents.
The ideal candidate will be qualified to HNC level or equivalent, with previous experience of working in an engineering design role. You will also be proficient in PDMS/MDS with significant Oil & Gas offshore experience.
