Description:
The team is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of a highly available 24x7 Data Storage & Backup environment.
This environment consists of storage devices like, EMC (DD880, DMX, Centera, Clariion) IBM XIV, NetApp, Hitachi, Brocade, Mcdata, Storage Tek. And also Backup technologies like, TSM (for Archiving), TINA (for Data Backup) and NetApp (NAS backup) with 6000+ backup jobs per day and >3% of failures.
Skill Required:
- Deep knowledge in one or more of the storage domain EMC (DD880, DMX, Centera, Clariion CX Series) IBM XIV, NetApp, Hitachi, Brocade, Mcdata, Storage Tek
- Excellent understanding of storage architecture.
- Strong working knowledge of storage technologies (ie, SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Enterprise Storage Arrays, Data Replication).
- Relevant certifications in storage infrastructure technologies (EMC Clariion, Symmetrix, Brocade etc.).
- Working knowledge of Enterprise-class Fiber Switch/Director Hardware from Cisco, Brocade, or McData required.
- Strong Working knowledge on Switch Zoning (brocade/Cisco).
- Knowledge on SRDF, SnapMirror & truecopy
- Knowledge on NetApp Metro Cluster
- Hands on experience in Management tool like Solution Enabler, Filerview, Hitachi Command suite
- Hands on Experience in Netapp Data Fabric Manager (Operations Manager and Protection Manager)
- Hands on Experience in Brocade & Mcdata Management Console like BNA & Connectrix.
- 3rd Party vendor tracking/coordination process
- Tape/Media management process.
- Knowledge on NDMP/VM Restore
- Good Experience in one of the backup domains TSM, TINA, NAS
- Strong experience on tape Libraries such as HP & IBM Tape Libraries
- Excellent understanding of Backup architecture.
- Expertise in day-to-day operations - Backup, Troubleshooting and Restore
- Working knowledge of Storage operational procedures and processes.
- Backup monitoring experience
- Working knowledge of backup operational procedures and processes.
- Preferred to have data backup knowledge in Netbackup or Backup Exec
- Preferable experience in planning, implementing & troubleshooting Disaster Recovery Manager (DRM)
- Knowledge of UNIX and Wintel environments, hardware and operating systems.
- ITIL process understanding and preferred to have certification
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with business users in a professional manner.
- Experience working with helpdesk ticketing applications like Remedy
- Ability to create and maintain positive and professional business relationship with both internal associates and external customers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, must be able to work effectively in a team environment
- Comprehensive verbal and written communication skills
- Able to lead discussions with client personnel
- Able to express concepts and provided information clearly and concisely
- Able to articulate troubleshooting questions clearly
- Able to communicate effectively over conf calls
- Ability to remain calm and courteous in periods of stress
- Ability to work on several problems simultaneously
- Ability to work with broad range of experience levels
Experience:
- At least 2-10 years' experience in Storage & Backup administrator profile
- Technical certification and technology specific study
