The Systems Engineer will understand and optimize the Windows capability of the TSS infrastructure in order to deliver a cost-effective and sustained level of service and availability that enables the business to satisfy its objectives in most effective manner.

Job Description:
Requirements:
  • Collect and Maintain Windows Data collection.
  • Resolve issues associated with data collection.
  • Create scripts to collect data and automate process.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on server's performance and Utilization.
  • Monitor and Complete issues requested thru Maestro database.
  • Participate in formal and informal projects for Capacity Planning.
  • Provide reporting for windows Servers indicating Red/Yellow/Green capacity status.
  • Participate and provide reports for business groups.
  • Monitor and provide daily reports on annual enrollment and inform members for peak performance.
  • Maintain and document data collection process.
  • Utilize application tools in providing Capacity Management
  • Maintain strong knowledge of windows
  • Maintain and enhance skills using EXCEL, Microsoft Access and SAS (must have).
  • Knowledge of NTSMF and BMC ProactiveNet (must have).
  • Other data mining technique (plus).
  • Unix system and/or capacity knowledge (Plus)

    Job outputs and recipients:
  • Daily report verifying data collection for all Windows Servers. Recipient is capacity management group.
  • Provide Excel and server utilization reports.
  • Document daily load process and procedures. Recipient is capacity management group.
  • Monthly meetings with reports showing resource usage, trends by LOB. Recipient is business groups.
  • Daily reports in Annual Enrollment period for server's performance, concurrent users. Recipient is TBA operations group.
  • Provide server performance reports when resolving Client's related issues. Recipient is business partners.
  • Monthly meetings with reports showing resource usage and trends by LOB. Recipient is Windows operations team.
  • Squeeze Play report, that primarily identifies under-utilized physical Servers that can be virtualized. It may also show under-utilized VMware Servers that may be able to become shared VMware Servers
  • Disk utilization and capacity data for monthly Dashboard report (Red/Yellow/Green). Recipient is Capacity Management group, Platform Management group, and Executive reporting.

    Job inputs:
  • Server Performance data provided by Capacity Planning daily collection process
  • Hardware knowledge and options by discussing with team members.
  • Evaluating Capacity Management Tools provided by Vendors
  • Information about new applications or services provided by business partners.
  • Requests from Maestro provided by business partners and support groups.
  • Identifying new physical and virtual Servers.

    Educational Qualification:-
  • 3+ years of experience in Capacity planning.
  • 3+ years of experience in Windows capacity planning.
  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in IT, Comp Science, Engineering, or Statistics/Math (with relevant experience).
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently in a dynamic fast paced environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have good personality and ability to work in team environment.
  • Able to work with the geographic distributed team (global environment).
