Senior Systems/Software Developer opportunity with an industry GIANT! In this role, you will work as part of a team building and maintaining mission critical video production systems. Sample projects include media asset management systems, digital video archives, and catalogue/search systems. In a Scrum environment, you will be involved in key disciplines of software engineering to deliver incremental but complete pieces of business value to stakeholders. We're looking for a seasoned Java/J2EE programmer with abilities beyond "just Java" who can show capability and experience in one or more of the following - Ruby/Rails/Groovy/Grails, Erlang, advanced and modern JavaScript frameworks, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Minimum of seven years of software development experience with a strong focus on application development.
• Five or more years experience developing systems with enterprise, commercial relational databases, including strong working knowledge of SQL and modern ORM tools.
• Minimum of five years of Java experience or mix of other modern programming languages - where three years or more include J2EE development against cluster-able application Servers/enterprise frameworks.
• Three or more years of OO JavaScript experience.
• Previous experience includes at least three years, building medium- to large-scale, "mission critical" "high availability" production systems that directly support essential business, technical, or operational functions.
• Strong experience in non-procedural programming, or applying functional-style concepts professionally considered a plus. Similarly, experience with Erlang a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of XML/XSL/JSON, HTML, and associated modern technologies.
