One of our Major Clients is urgently looking for a PLC Controls Engineer.

The Mobility and Logistics Division provides hardware, software and service bundles for the optimisation and automation of traffic and transport networks on road and rail as well as for airports and harbours. The newly created Division will be in charge of all the businesses of mobility and logistics management for people and goods. These include rail automation, infrastructure logistics, intelligent traffic and transportation systems along with all our electro mobility infrastructure activities.

The main objectives of this role include the design, commissioning and integration of baggage handling system (BHS) projects. Typical projects are complete baggage handling systems, integrating new HBS machines or other subsystems into live systems or upgrading of PLC Control systems. All works are within the BHS environment.

Typical projects cover all development steps, design manufacture, install, commissioning and test of BHS systems or subsystems. Since the client acts as a 'Baggage Integrator', management of suppliers will play a major role. The PLC Controls Engineer needs to have the ability to manage multiple and potentially conflicting requirements while identifying and maintaining focus on the client and customer priorities.

Goal:

Design, commissioning and integration of cost effective solutions during the project acquisition and execution phase based on customer requirements.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a Masters in Automation or Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent and evidence of the following:

- 17th Edition Certificate
- EPLAN
- AutoCAD
- Amtech

Experience:

Significant experience of Electrical Design PLC controls engineering will be evidenced in your application showing:

- Experience in all phases of the PLC Engineering part in a Bid Team for PLC quotes
- Experience in all phases of the PLC Software Engineering process
- Experience in all phases of the PLC Hardware Development process
- Managing stakeholders and requirements
- Domain knowhow in baggage related mechanical and electrical solutions
- Experience with complex Logistics PLC systems

You will be able to evidence experience in:

- Panel design, drives, frequency Inverter, motor starter, field devices and sensors.
- IEC, EU, BS Standards.
- Conveyor technologies, sorter systems, lifting devices

The candidate also requires a thorough knowledge of:

- Power Bus Circuits and hardware requirements
- Control Bus Circuits and hardware requirements
- Circuit protection and monitoring devices
- Safety Systems like AS-I Safety or Failsafe PLC's
- Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet, Asi-Bus
- Calculation of energy consumption and compensation, harmonic analysis, EMC

Experience in materials handling/factory manufacturing or logistics environment is required and if you have baggage handling projects and/or the airports industry experience it would be a significant advantage
