Starting Salary: $59,293.27 - $65,000.00
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under moderate to minimal supervision, researches and implements web technology to create and/or maintain websites.
Provides assistance to the Webmaster or other site programmers in performing duties related to the design and maintenance of websites. Applies knowledge of HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) coding and Cold Fusion to develop software programs and knowledge of Content Management System. Corrects problems on the functionality of the website. Edits and maintains content for the Agency's
websites with technical assistance from the Information Technology and Operations department. Creates, develops and maintains visually aesthetic static and dynamic pages to communicate agency/divisional information. Produces and maintains print, graphic and web-based publications, brochures, advertisements and other forms of content from the point of design through final production. Provides technical and design services to GSFC departments seeking the production of professional looking documents and graphic designs.
Implements project management strategies to ensure accuracy and consistency of site information.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
The following standards express the minimum background of training and experience DESIRABLE as evidence of an applicant's ability to qualify for this class title. Other training or experience, if evaluated as equivalent, may qualify an applicant for a position within this class.
- Four-year college degree.
- At least three years of comprehensive work experience in a commercial graphic art design
and maintenance capacity using updated technologies and industry standards. - Strong computer skills including searching techniques, ability to generate tracking
documents and custom reports, and ability to install and utilize new software
tools as they become available. - Must be proficient with HTML, Adobe Design Suite, Dreamweaver, Cold Fusion, Digital
Asset Management (DAM), MS Office, and the use of plotters and scanners. - Must demonstrate knowledge of graphic design principles, desktop publishing
techniques, publishing design, project management, and web maintenance. - Ability to design sites that support multiple brands of popular web browsers.
- Must demonstrate a working knowledge of Agency mandated technologies.
- Must demonstrate interpersonal communications skills such as advising, recommending,
troubleshooting, exchanging information and a strong sensitivity to the public
image.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
More than three years directly related experience.
