Description
Our client in the Greater West Chester, PA area is looking for an experienced Sr. DBA to join their team. This is a chance to work for an established and growing organization who has recently been ranked as #1 in their industry - nationwide!
This position will:
- Provide operational support for assigned database environments, as well as backup support for other environments.
- Responsible for database and system performance, including database monitoring, problem analysis, and tuning activities to ensure optimum database performance.
- After-hours support for application release and change management activities and participate in "on-call" rotation and respond to critical database incidents as needed
- Work with application development groups and system administrators to determine the best storage, access, and distribution methods for data.
- Focus on improving the efficiency, availability, performance, and quality of the database environment and services provided to client's customers.
- Ensure the data architecture accurately and efficiently translates the business requirements into a logical data model.
Required Skills:
- 4+ years of DBA experience with production support
- Excellent SQL server administration and programming skills with an in depth knowledge of SQL Server .
- although someone with extensive work experience may be acceptable as a substitute
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
Bonus Skills:
- Some Oracle knowledge helpful
- Any knowledge of Reporting Services, Jasper, or Crystal
- College degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field strongly preferred
