Overview:

Our client, a major UK retail bank, require the services of an Implementation Support to assist in the migration of the business services (Print, mail etc) from the bank to their divested operation. It is essential you have experience of working closely with the command and control function, have supported the production of schedule of events and worked on post implementation support. This is a business service migration and we ARE NOT looking for IT implementation experience.

Core duties of the role:

  • The Implementation Support role provides support to the Implementation Lead who is accountable for planning, preparing and orchestrating the awareness, implementation outputs and deployment approvals, including formal governance around central proving and implementation events, such as Dress Rehearsals, Live Trials and Command and Control for Business Services Programme.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Work with stakeholders from Business Services, IT and Central Divestment Programme to ensure implementation and cutover activities take place in a controlled manner under required central governance.
  • Support the production and maintenance of the implementation and cutover deliverables such as the Master Implementation/Migration Plan, Schedule of Events, scope documents and readiness trackers for each conversion event. Monitor and report on risks and issues.
  • Support the Implementation Lead in working with stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of scope and expectations of their area and to plan and schedule each conversion event eg dress rehearsals, trials etc.
  • Work with various resources to ensure appropriate change records are in place in good time for each item to be implemented
  • Ensure adequate communication and controls are in place to manage implementation incidents to conclusion including co-ordination and attendance of go/no go decision meetings as required and provision of post-implementation support to drive incident resolution in liaison with business areas as required

Core skills and experience required:

  • Experience of providing support to migration/cutover events that are occurring as part of a large scale project/programme ideally with business rather than IT focus
  • Understanding of central proving events (Dress Rehearsals, Live Trials, Trial Account Migrations) and the multiple dependencies and stakeholders involved
  • Experience of continually assessing the progress against an agreed plan and maintaining the risk and issues log and in driving through issues via relevant contacts to conclusion
  • Able to clearly articulate problems and solutions to colleagues and stakeholders
  • Experience of ensuring that governance is understood and adhered to by impacted areas
  • Excellent organisational skills eg for co-ordinating meetings, planning and recording and following through on actions
  • Self motivated with the ability to work to tight deadlines

Desirable Skills

  • Ideally will have experience of working in a large scale operational print and mail environment or other similar type of operation

This is an Implementation Support role and we are looking for the following range of experience in a CV:

  • Has either worked in or very closely with the Command and Control function during the cutover execution providing status updates to stakeholders and making sure that go live threatening issues are resolved.
  • Has supported the creation of the Schedule of Events eg for proving events and dress rehearsals designed to minimise the risk of failure on the live migration
  • Has provided post-implementation support (encompassing driving incident resolution and short term operational workarounds with the various business areas)
  • Has provided support for planning and managing migration activities ensuring all quality milestones are appropriately planned and met - Has provided support to the detailed planning and scheduling of each implementation event (live trials, dress Rehearsal etc)
