Description

This position, located in Dayton, Ohio, assures support for approximately 11,000 users.  Providing technical advice, maintaining knowledge on help desk support and procedures, and troubleshooting are keys to this position. This position is responsible for receiving support tickets, analysing support problems, and either resolving issues or routing calls to the correct support area or individual.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - Able to communicate with understanding with a wide range of users among all levels of the organization chart. This includes common users to executives. Effectively communicate with the technical support, help desk and systems engineering staff on issues, resolutions, and day-to-day communications.
  • Team player - Needs to be able to work in a team environment with local and remote technical resources.
  • Adherence to processes, procedures and standards
  • Follow direction - Ability to follow directions and effectively deal with challenges with little follow-up.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Strong in desktop/laptop support skills (HP Shop)
    - Device imaging and securely wiping PCs
    - PC migrations (Personalizing, transferring data, and deployment)
    - Hardware troubleshooting and part replacement
    - MS Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems
    - Microsoft desktop applications
    - Novell Client for Windows
  • Solid troubleshooting skills
    Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory
    Ability to support offsite users
    Able to interact with hardware and software vendors

Additional Technical Skills Desired:

  • Antivirus/antispyware applications
  • Technical writing skills
  • Knowledge of HP printers and Ricoh multi-function printing equipment
  • LAN skills
    - Computer networking
    - Wireless (Wi-Fi) knowledge
