JOB TITLE/Reference #: #104 Web Designer
Duration of Assignment: Twelve months plus a possible six months extension

Our client requires the services of a Web Designer, to provide deliverables including, but not limited to, the following:
- Web pages - static and multimedia content - for the client's Internet and Intranet sites
- Quality W3C-compliant coding
- Knowledge transfer to other team members
Qualifications and Experience:
- It is important that the Services be undertaken by a Specialist who has the required qualifications and demonstrates specific knowledge and relevant experience preferably in the broader public sector.
Experience
- 2+ years experience building and developing content for enterprise website projects and demonstrating progressive experience in website development, information architecture, navigation development and content production combined with a strong working knowledge of traditional and new media technologies.
- Completed post-secondary education in a discipline related to the job function, for example, Journalism, technical writing, marketing, graphic and/or industrial design, usability and information architecture or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of database software, operating systems and communication software.
- 3+ years experience demonstrating the ability to participate in cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams producing innovative web designs and strategies; demonstrated excellent research skills; and ability to educate peers and clients.
- 3+ years experience applying image manipulation and graphic design skills in the creation of websites using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Demonstrated experience developing website solutions that take into account the capabilities of Web browsers across multiple platforms and the constraints involved in designing for online media; demonstrated experience with design for usability for large websites, for broad and diverse audiences; demonstrated experience with website and PDF file accessibility with regards to compliance with Acessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) for broad and diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in information architecture, user interface design, and visual design for the web.
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects and to work to overlapping deadlines.
Technical Capabilities:
- 3+ years using current Microsoft Office applications including Excel and website development applications including Adobe Acrobat, DreamWeaver, Adobe Flash, multimedia and captioning tools
- 3+ years experience in HTML development and use of Web based technologies such as DHTML, Java, XML, Perl, Javascript, JQuery, Web Content Management systems, and Cascading Style Sheets
