Close liaison required with Topsides Controls Engineer and Topsides Systems Engineer to ensure that the selected umbilical design is fully integrated within the subsea system architecture, providing all required system functional, interface, installation and operational requirements and which results in optimized CAPEX/OPEX expenditures.
Knowledgeable of the fundamental principles pertinent to umbilical design and fabrication techniques, electrical power and signal transmission, optical signal transmission, hydraulic power transmission, chemical injection transmission, umbilical installation techniques and analyses, seabed stabilities etc. Knowledgeable of metallic tube based umbilical design is of particular importance.
Knowledgeable of umbilical components and umbilical assembly testing including qualification testing, manufacturing testing and production testing requirements throughout the product life cycle in accordance with ISO 13628 Part 5.
Aware of relevant umbilical installation techniques and limitations, including hang-off and pull-in designs and with particular reference to offshore pull-in operations.

Knowledgeable of Company Representative activities and day-to-day management of Umbilical Contractor including:
Daily reporting to Project Pipelines Manager.
Daily site inspection and interfacing with Contractor.
Review of Contractor`s qualification, manufacturing and testing plans and procedures.
Witnessing of Contractor qualification and acceptance tests.
Support to offshore installation, commissioning and production start-up activities.
The incumbent will be required to communicate with Company Technical Authority on all technical issues.
Reviews, comments and verifies Contractors Detailed Engineering Reviews and comments on specifications, requisitions, designs, procedures, layout arrangements and all documentation issued by the Contractors
Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering Degree, with relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry including relevant experience of subsea umbilicals and/or subsea control systems.
Good communication skills essential and able to work as an integrated team member in a demanding project delivery environment.
Position will be based in Aberdeen but travel may be required to control and follow-up all interfaces issues associated with umbilical manufacture, testing and integration.
Appropriate periods acting as Company Representative on major subsea umbilical supply contracts.
Specialist knowledge of umbilical design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and operational activities.
Knowledge of Subsea Control System and Subsea Chemical Injection System design and operation
