Operational Strategic Planning/Tracking Lead

We currently have a requirement for an Operational Strategic Planning/Tracking Lead role to work on an exciting new contract for 3-6 months with our leading blue chip client. The role is based in the Hampshire area and boasts attractive rates.

Role Description

To lead a team of experienced consultants accountable for assessing and developing pan UKGI strategic operational options in partnership with UKGI Exec Members and Leadership teams, challenging them as and where required and identifying solutions that provide a short/medium term step change in UKGI operational performance

To align agreed operational action and investment tracking with UK and Global expense programmes and track delivery of operational actions delivering circa $50m net savings via agreed operational change programmes in line with corporate standards.

Key Account Accountabilities

  • Lead a team of experienced consultants
  • Lead and develop a team of consultants on all UKGI operational review assignments work in partnership with UKGI Exec Members and Leadership teams.
  • Build a strong working relationship with COO/CFO, operational/functional heads and MFU finance directors to enable identification of key value add operational reviews
  • Deploy expert business analysis skill, broad business knowledge and specialist operational expertise to ensure that the strategic solution provides significant business benefit.. Instrumental in shaping the structure of the business change impacts.
  • Lead the team in working in close partnership with other Operational Functions (BC&IT, Technical Operations and CRE&FM) and Finance.
  • Ensure strong engagement with the business to ensure that all changes impacting on people, customers, etc are recorded and resolved.
  • Ensure engagement with group on any group related initiatives that could impact the UK
  • Ensure agreed operational plans are understood and tracked.
  • Ensure UKGI executive have clear operation action plans that can be tracked on quarterly basis and assessed in terms of key risks and issues of delivery
  • Provide monthly updates to the CEO, COO and CFO on progress of operational action plans
  • Ensure group are updated on UK operational delivery

Qualifications and Experience

  • Consulting experience; whether in-house at a similar blue chip firm or external consulting for a global consultancy.
  • The Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem solving environment, with attention to detail, a commitment to quality and the ability to think strategically
  • Strong business analysis skills using a variety of standard techniques.
  • Significant experience of leading, designing and assessing outsourcing, offshoring, restructuring change programmes
  • Significant understanding of insurance and operating management processes, disciplines and respective financial management
  • Significant understanding of project life cycles and the ability to produce comprehensive, complete documentation without functional gaps. An understanding of project management methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills ability to communicate with people of all backgrounds both- finance & non-finance.
  • Proactive relationship builder who is able to listen, be attentive to detailed information and translate it into viable, pragmatic solutions.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • High energy and personal drive.
