My Client, a local authority in the Midlands is looking to engage an interim Finance Projects Manager to support them through a period of significant change and development across a number of ongoing and new projects. This is an exciting and challenging role that offers the opportunity to be involved with a variety of different projects across a variety of service areas.
This role will co-ordinate the financial support to a number of projects, providing the scrutiny and challenge to ensure robust financial appraisals are undertaken for each project and that the most affordable solutions have been utilised. Reporting into the section 151 officer you will have a supporting role - ensuring key deliverables are met and the financial aspect of all business cases are clear.

Other aspects of this role include:

Supporting with the financial modelling input into the public budget consultation
Undertaking an options appraisal on future payroll provision
Analysing the Council's capital programme
Looking at the efficiency of the current financial reporting process and key policies/procedures

The ideal individual will have:

Financial experience within a local authority setting
An accounting qualification
Experience of financial options appraisal
Proven project management skills.
