We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Agent/Buyer to work with one of the largest organisations within the Defence and Aerospace industry. The role is a contract opportunity for 4 months with a competitive pay rate.

The responsibilities of the role are below but not limited to these:

  • Act as an authorised agent of the company with the responsibility to commit company resources through contracts and agreements for the procurement of goods and services.
  • Negotiate pricing and all other elements of the contract terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and execute the negotiated contractual documents and all other pertinent or necessary binding agreements with suppliers.
  • Integrate and coordinate internal and external customer requirements to establish and document procurement requirements consistent with customer expectations.
  • Facilitate, integrate and document technical and business communications between Boeing, supplier(s) and customers. Works with complex procurement source selections
  • Interpret and enforce contract terms and conditions.
  • Document procurement decisions, create contract correspondence, and administer contract changes between the company and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Boeing procedures and contract requirements.
  • Integrate activities with internal and external customers and suppliers to fulfil contract requirements and reconcile contract issues.
  • Manage contract terminations and closeouts.
  • Define performance expectations and establish relevant metrics. Gather and evaluate performance data. Meet with suppliers and Boeing partners to resolve performance-related issues. Develops improvement plans and monitors progress.
  • Carry out regular supplier performance reviews.

Competencies:

  • Supply Chain Knowledge: Understanding of UK contract law and demonstrable direct experience working with a variety of subcontract types.
  • Contract Structure and Terms: Knowledge of contract structure, to draft and document unique and complex proposals and agreements in a form that meets legal/business requirements.
  • Contracting Process: Knowledge of the negotiation and contracting processes (may negotiate final contract terms).
  • Supplier selection process: Experience of negotiating pricing and other contract terms and conditions for contracts. Demonstrable ability to monitor contract effectiveness, grow relationships and partnerships with suppliers and alliances.
  • Customer/Supplier Knowledge: Knowledge of customer/supplier organization, processes, policies and procedures, products, requirements, capabilities, practices, support resources, preferences, constraints.
  • Customer/Supplier Agreements: Knowledge of the theories and conditions of agreements between a company and various suppliers (internal and external) and how they apply to specific company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Interpersonal skills: Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with external customers and internal Boeing customers including the management team.
