Description
I am currently seeking a Virtualization Architect for an exciting contract. The ideal candidate will have previous experience ideally within the following technologies: VMWare, Citrix, Windows, Linux, Terminal Servers, Cloud Computing, Desktop Virtualization. Would prefer someone from a professional services or consulting company, not looking for contractors. Manager levels must have other professional services experience, managing people, projects, ground virtualization.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in 2 of the 5 following areas o Server Based Computing Build (Citrix XenApp, Windows Terminal Services) o Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Build (VMWare View, Citrix XenDesktop, etc.) o Connection Broker Build (VMWare, Citrix, LeoStream, Quest, etc.) o Application Virtualization Build (Microsoft App-V, Endeavor, InstallFree, ThinApp, etc.) o Thin Client Deployment (Wyse, HP, etc.)
Preferred Skills:
Some combination of the following skills: o Virtualization and infrastructure architecture experience o Designing and implementing virtualization technologies o Application/Database rationalization design/implementation - includes application migration/consolidation and database rationalization o Storage Technologies (SAN/NAS) including Hardware & Software (EMC/Network Appliance/Sun Storagetekl IBM/or HP EVA or Storage works) o Advanced computing and storage technologies - server virtualization and partitioning, storage virtualization o Datacentre/Server Operational Components (Monitoring, Management, etc.) o ITIL concepts, in particular for Help Desk, Incident, and Problem Management o Experience implementing and maintaining methodology. o Asset Management (Experience with tools/process) o Designing and implementing server solutions Designing scalable server architectures for critical business systems o Experience in project management and detailed technical planning o Planning future server capacity o Implementing disaster recovery processes and procedures o Maintaining problem tracking and resolution at a detailed level for service requests o Performing file system maintenance and data migration o Performance tuning of Servers and related systems o Writing scripts for automation of tasks
