Description
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Responsibilities include various tasks pursuant to the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of Internet/Intranet systems.
- Understands and translates business needs into system scope and objectives.
- Devises or modifies procedures to solve problems using information systems.
- Prepares detailed specifications from which program will be written and designed, coded, tested, debugged and document these programs.
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience in business/systems analysis
- Experience with designing and implementing distributed systems
- Experience with Business Intelligence systems is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Cognos is a huge plus.
- Strong XML and web services knowledge.
- Must be able to articulate very precise technical problems and solutions while conversing with management and other members of the programming staff
