Control Design Manager/Risk Assurance Manager/Operational Risk Manager/Governance Manager
Control Design Manager required for a leading Financial Services organisation based in Northampton.
As the Control Design Manager you will have a very good knowledge and understanding of the control design and will have the ability to determine control criticality. The ideal candidate should possess 2-3 years Governance and Control experience within Financial Services industry. They will have proven ability to support effective strategies that balance short-term requirements with long-term perspectives and business plans and expectations and be Able to apply broad knowledge and reasoned experience when addressing complex issues and communicate a range of potential solutions in straightforward terms to employees at all levels in the organisation
The Control Design Manager will be expected to proactively establish and enforce controls that balance risk and opportunity and be able to clearly define strategic issues in a fast-changing environment and effectively manage areas of ambiguity
The 4 core design processes for the Control Design Manager include, Interpretation, Design, Implementation and Embedment.
Key skills and background
- The inner workings of a multidimensional control environment
- The inner workings of end to end processes
- Clear understanding of control environment internal and assessment processes and key criteria
- A clear understanding of how to balance control and exposure vs. profit
- Remediation following risk events
- The ability to translate policy into practise
- Working Knowledge of Governance and Control within financial services
- Previous Team leadership.
- Proven track record of design of a control environment
- Previous experience of interpreting fairly complex briefs and information into practical and usable processes and controls.
- Proven track record of significant contribution to obtaining successful internal and external audit results
- Understanding of the FSA criteria.
- 3 years+ working in Financial services
- Ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organisation
- Strong strategic thinker.
- Excellent Written & Verbal communication skills.
- The ability to prioritise and multi task to ensure delivery expectations are met
