UNIX SERVER ADMINISTRATOR
6 Month contract/$ Per day

I am looking for a ready to go Unix Server Administrator to lead from the front in a well known utilities provider.
As USE you are required to maintain all Unix systems to ensure that they meet agreed service levels for availability, reliability, performance and capacity. You'll work with and help lead a team of technical specialists, responsible for managing on a day to day basis the maintenance and support for the IT systems. This includes management of operating systems, hardware and application software, configurations, related appliances, tuning, etc to maximise efficiency and ensure SLA criteria are met or exceeded.
SO What do you need?
- 5+ years Advanced Unix Server Administration
- Unix Server Certification (Solaris 10)
- Team lead experience
- Experience using Solaris 10 in a production environment or with Oracle Linux on an Exadata/Exalogic platform.
- Strong knowledge of Solaris, Samba, LDAP, AD, DNS and LAN/WAN
- Knowledge and experience working with Solaris Zones (Containers)
- ITIL certification.
It may also help if you have the some of the following:
- Experience managing HDS and XiV SAN storage systems
- Shell Scripting
- Disaster Recovery
- Change Control Management experience
- Knowledge and experience with Oracle Databases
- Symantec Netbackup
- Oracle SUN Server infrastructure, specifically the M & T Series Servers
- Cisco MDS 9000 Fibre channel SAN equipment
