Job Title: Information Architect (UX)

Type: Contract-12 months

Location: Atlanta, GA

The Information Architect role is responsible for designing clean, creative, and intuitive user interfaces that address business and end-user needs. The Information Architect will also be responsible for creating easily understood wireframes to be used by both in-house and offshore development teams. This person will also discover, develop and standardize a corporate UI design guide.

Primary Responsibilities of the Information Architect:

  • On-going responsibility to lead thorough domain walkthrough/detailed requirement sessions with Subject Matter Experts, focused on achieving the right depth of understanding needed for making confident recommendations.
  • Using an iterative process with business stakeholders to develop consistent and workflow-optimized wireframes focused on the long-term management of a very complex system.
  • Helping to lead the development of a macro UI framework to enable intuitive user interaction with hundreds of unique features/tasks.
  • Working in 2-4 week cycles to iterate through feature requirements with stakeholders, in order to arrive at development ready wireframes that conform to established enterprise standards.
  • Collaborate with other designers and analysts on the team, and work to unify multiple workstreams to establish consistency across all solutions.
  • Working with Business Analysts to ensure that user oriented workflows are produced before UX/IA designs are finalized.
  • Conduct design walkthroughs and communicate design rationale to people in other disciplines (project managers, system architects, developers, business analysts and stakeholders).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Information Architecture, User Experience, Information Design, Industrial Design, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years work experience in Information Architecture, UX or related field.
  • Proficient with standard IA and design applications (including but not limited to Visio, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • A Design Portfolio showcasing IA experience in the following areas: goals, problem statements, design rationale, concepts, wireframes, and end product.
  • Experience with mobile and tablet usability a plus.
  • Hospitality industry experience is a plus.
