Storage Administrator II
Summary
The Storage Administrator II is an exciting and vital role within IT as the business runs on information, and the Storage Administrator II is a key member on the Storage Team to make sure that the enterprise storage and backup platforms are highly available, delivering the proper levels of performance, elastic to meet demand fluctuations, and recoverable from various scenarios of data loss or corruption. The Storage Administrator II is specifically responsible for the following: evaluating, installing, maintaining, and supporting storage arrays, SAN Switches, tape libraries, enterprise backup software, and the associated management software; preparing written documentation to accompany all changes to the environment; providing technical guidance and direction to other team members, management, DBAs, and systems administrators; evaluating requirements for new solutions; and assisting in architecting new data storage and data protection solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintaining, supporting, upgrading, and troubleshooting storage arrays, SAN Switches, tape libraries, enterprise backup software, and the associated management software 65%
2. Providing technical guidance to other team members, management, DBAs, and systems administrators along with evaluating and architecting new data storage and data protection solutions 5%
3. Creating new methods to report on the health of the environment, running existing reports, and analysing the data to identify areas of concern 5%
4. Preparing written documentation and organizing involved parties for the change management process along with performing the related maintenance activities 10%
5. Documenting processes and procedures and cross-training other members of the team 10%
6. Performing other duties as assigned 5%

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Cisco MDS experience
- 5+ years EMC Symmetrix/DMX/VMAX experience
- Brocade FC switch experience
- 5+ years SAN administration experience
- Storage or backup certifications
- 3+ years EMC VNX/Clariion experience
- Windows Server OS basic administration
- 3+ years Symantec NetBackup experience
- UNIX/Linux OS basic administration
- 3+ years NetApp experience
- Shell and Perl Scripting experience
- 2+ years Tape Library experience
- Leadership skills
- Time management skills and ability to organize
