Description
Senior Solutions Developer - 6 Month Contract - City of London - £550 per day
Core responsibilities:
1. Technical design of internal changes to existing in-house applications & interfaces with 3rd party applications to ensure that built applications continue to be maintained, supportable & cost of change is minimised through the reuse of existing solutions.
2. Develop and unit test changes using initially ASP.NET, ASP, MVC and WCF technologies ensuring that the coding follows Bank standards and common patterns.
3. Provide second and third line support to the operations and support teams in case of incidents so that the incidents can be investigated from a technical aspect and quicken the resolution of the incident.
4. Review other developer's designs, developments and unit tests to ensure that code is built to a consistent style and quality so that anyone in the team can support each other's code.
5. Review the development standards by the team to ensure that the standards incorporate current best practices from the industry and the Bank ISSP rules.
6. Provide adhoc project and non-project tasks and responsibilities as required.
Work Experience (Essential):
Experienced full software development life cycle. Worked in project teams with Project Managers, Business Analysts and other developers. Expertise in developing in controlled and standardised environments. Previous experience in developing ASP.NET solutions. Leading small teams of developers. Followed extreme programming development practices, particularly test driven development, simple design, continuous integration and collective code ownership.
Functional/Technical Competencies (Essential):
Working to standards and project deadlines. Web services. Excellent understanding of the design and building of applications that interface with users. Developed in ASP.NET and ASP.NET MVC. Built web services.
