Description:
Our client seeks an Oracle DBA for a long-term contract opportunity. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining databases required for development, testing and production usage in a lab environment.
Experience/Skills:
- 8+ years of Oracle DBA experience with Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g and higher and PL/SQL
- Strong understanding and experience with Oracle tools for performance tuning
- Knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery, rollback planning/implementation
- Perform senior level administrative functions as needed under minimum supervision
- Evaluate existing database performance, perform analysis and implementation of improvements and tuning of its structure, configurations and design
- Support various integration activities, production deployments and support functions
- Perform the capacity planning required to create and maintain the database
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux
- Install new versions of the Oracle RDBMS and its tools and any other tools that access the Oracle database
- Control migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes and menu changes through the development life cycle
- Implement and enforce security for all of the Oracle Databases
- Perform database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database
- Put standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance
Education:
BS/BA in Computer Science or related field
