The Scope of the project is for a SQL Developer to join a newly formed team consisting of business system analysts and SQL developers for an SQL upgrade project.
The following will be the responsibilities and tasks of an SQL Developer:
- Maintain development, implementation and support of enterprise data.
- Using ETL solutions, develop SQL Server objects including complex stored procedures, extracts and interfaces to multiple current and Legacy systems.
- Collaborate with multiple teams including data and application architects, business and production system analysts, QA analysts and other system owners in the data conversion project.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company's business processes.
- Perform peer reviews of other developer's code.
- Develop meaningful unit test-plans, systematically implement and update them. Co-ordinate release management activities related to your deliverables.
- Work in a multi-site team environment
- Solid experience of Customer Service
Required Skills:
- 3rd level qualification in a Computer Science related discipline.
- 3-5 year's software development or other relevant experience in an IT environment.
- Extensive Microsoft SQL Server Experience.
- Excellent Microsoft Transact SQL query writing skills.
- Extensive experience of Transact SQL query performance tuning and optimisation.
- Experience of using Microsoft DTS/SSIS in a large corporate Data
- Warehouse environment.
- SQL Server conversion experience eg MSSQL2000 to MSSQL2008 a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of reporting tools, in particular Business Objects/Crystal
- Reports/LogiXML a plus.
