Join one of the world's global, prestigious IT vendors. They are seeking an Infrastructure Project Manager specialising in IT Security, Web Security, Network security areas. This is a customer facing role within the financial industry. The selected candidate will be tasked with managing multiple Infrastructure Outsourcing projects at any one time. These projects can be new business or delivering upon contractual commitments, eg. Upgrades, desktop/branch refreshes. There will be excellent potential to extend your contract for up to 2/3 years. CBD based.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of the PMI Process Groups; Initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing.
- Knowledge of current Project Management methodologies.
- Must have a working knowledge in business matters, finance, planning, forecasting and personnel in order to effectively manage team staff and business issues.
- Engaged as a professional who advises others and works with team members to articulate, compare, and implement solutions and alternative approaches based upon project management principles.
- Negotiates effectively with team members to define the team's goals, work content and schedules. Clearly communicates team results to immediate management/project manager.
- Establishes and maintains clear mechanisms to communicate project status and change with the project team and other staff. Must be able to effectively communicate resource needs and project issues with management/project management.
Candidate Background and Mandatory Skills
- Previous experience with IT Security, Web Security, Network security areas.
- Previous Project Management experience, at least 3-5 years.
- Prior experience managing large Infrastructure Projects.
- Tertiary Qualifications (Information Technology or Similar)
- Prince 2 Practitioner Certified.
- Telco or Banking and Finance background.
- Excellent Communication/Negotiation Skills.
Desired Experience
- Previous experience with Data Centre Work/Relocations, Server, Security, Desktop and Transition and Transformation projects.
- Customer facing experience in Financial Services/Banking Industry.
- PMP/PMI Certified.
- Previous outsourcing experience
