Key Responsibilities
Production of Mechanical designs and analysis based on existing and new machine topologies
To create Mechanical Design solutions in line with project requirements and deliverables, using Pro-Engineer, Pro-Mechanica, ANSYS and other suitable design evaluation methods
Liaise on modifications as necessary with all areas of the Engineering Department during the design phase
Production of ongoing modifications to machine design as needed, to improve safety, performance, cost effectiveness, reliability, ease of manufacture etc. to suit all internal and external Customers
Liaison with Material Control and Suppliers on specification and availability of materials, keeping abreast with the latest technologies for design
Providing technical information as required to all internal functions and technical data to Customers as required
Deal with technical enquiries from all internal and external sources as well as visiting customers to give support
Analyse competitors' products and compile relevant technical reports
Interpreting and applying relevant National and International Standards for Design and Quality Assurance
Carry out duties in line with the Company Quality Policy Statement
Be flexible in offering assistance in times of high workload or absence of colleagues and carrying out any other tasks compatible with the nature and level of position, as directed by the Technical Project Leader
Experience Required
Practical and Analytical Mechanical design skills
Chartered Engineer (or leading to)
Automotive experience an advantage
FE Analysis/Calculations
Good level of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project skills
