Description
Spring Technology currently require a Strategic Procurement Project Lead for our public sector client in London or Liverpool.
Key Tasks:
* Leadership and operational delivery for complex and strategic procurement projects, working across departments on a wide range of high profile commercial initiatives.
* Excellent stakeholder relationship management is required to ensure that the commercial objectives are met and that any risks and issues are understood and managed effectively throughout the project, from start to finish.
* Working with the team to develop and produce the optimum procurement strategy which maximises savings for the department. Executing the strategy from early market engagement through the procurement process to contract award.
* Managing approvals for the projects including preparation of high quality business cases for presentation at board level.
* Use of the lean procurement process to control and deliver procurements at pace. Establishing key performance metrics and reporting on progress with regular clear communications.
* Managing risks and issues working with stakeholders across Government to resolve and escalate as required.
Essential Characteristics:
* Outstanding stakeholder management, engagement and influencing skills in complex customer and supplier environments.
* Experience of managing complex projects to deliver business objectives. Use of tools and techniques to manage projects and resources to ensure timely delivery. Ability to lead and operate in a complex environment including experience of preparing business cases for board level approval.
* Experience of using a structured approach to identify opportunities and deliver high value, complex contracts for the provision of goods and services, ideally with a working knowledge of EU procurement regulations.
* In depth experience of strategy and planning in procurement or related commercial environments. Sound judgement, ability to challenge, and take a balanced and strategic view.
* Data analysis & reporting skills. Uses information to create procurement strategy, is open to critical challenge and inspires the confidence of stakeholders.
* Experience of operating in Matrix teams with, with an ability to retain the focus and motivation of team members to drive project targets.
