Network Engineer Initial 11 month daily rate contract, with excellent rates on offer. This is for the position of Network Engineer, with a well known Multi National Company. This is an urgent requirement, they are hoping to interview, ideally on the 22nd of this month, ahead of a start date of the 29th. Establish network standards, analyse and resolve complex network related problems, up to and including Level 3, and analyse and test all elements of the network infrastructure. Design, deploy and support secure global networks and establish standards based on business objectives

Responsibilities
The Network Engineer will provide support for the company's Network infrastructure regionally by designing global solutions to meet application and business needs. The network engineer will be responsible for deploying network builds, testing and documenting Router configurations, Firewall configurations and related network architecture to support a global enterprise class network

  • Member of a project team that provides network requirements and solutions to support new application and growth requirements
  • Deploy and support network solutions to connect new facilities, upgrade and improve existing and outsourcer connectivity
  • Create network utilization reports and proactively determine bandwidth upgrade requirements.
  • Work closely with the global network engineering teams on operational requirements, implementations and provide L3 support
  • Provide support and deployment expertise for structured cabling, LAN and WAN infrastructure and document maintenance and management procedures
  • Deploy and support network services Servers, including but not limited to DHCP, DNS, Proxy, WINS and Radius Servers
  • Implement and support remote access systems
  • Evaluate network hardware and software to maintain adequate and up-to-date tools and hardware for network operation and management
  • Document instructions for backups, implementation and standard procedures for reference, training and standardization to ensure maximum network performance and to plan for expansion and upgrades as needed
  • Train end-users and group members on network concepts, technology updates and functional skill
Functional/tech requirements
  • Understands, applies and adopt fundamental concepts, practices and procedures related to network operations
  • Formal LAN/WAN or Voice Communication training
  • Cisco Router administration/configuration
  • Familiarity with all major network routing and routed protocols
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, Router and switch configuration, TCP/IP planning and management
  • SMARTS and Netscout network management tools experience
  • Good communication skills. Proficiency in English is a requirement
  • Expert level understanding of OSPF and BGP routing protocols
  • Good understanding of MPLS technologies
Qualifications/Experience
  • 2-6 years professional experience
  • CCNP or CCIE certification will be an added advantage
  • Brocade & Juniper experience a strong advantage
  • Documentation skills
  • ITIL certification or experience is an advantage
