Manufacturing Project Engineer/Project Manager, West Midlands

Our West Midlands client is looking to recruit a Manufacturing/Production Project Engineer/Project Manager.

The Manufacturing Engineer will work in partnership with the Business Manager, Operations Team and other colleagues on the site to assist in delivering a new high volume manufacturing cell to support growth.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

*Plan and coordinate the procurement, installation and capability of new manufacturing facilities
*Ability to produce production layouts using AutoCAD
*Determine the future work flow using Value Stream Mapping or Process Mapping
*Developing and implementing production cells
*Managing contractors/suppliers, obtaining quotations, raising purchase documentation and procuring products or services to support the departmental outputs
*Applicants will be expected to demonstrate delivery of multiple projects across all aspects of Manufacturing Engineering
*Tooling and machinery specification, and commissioning including the creation of CAPEX justifications
*Be directly engaged with other parts of the business at all levels to ensure project delivery against set deliverables
*Use skills and experience to ensure that products are brought to production on time and to cost and quality requirements
*Ensuring that Health & Safety standards are met

Technical skills and Qualifications:
Essential
*Minimum HNC or equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering with at least 5 years of demonstrable Project Management experience
*Possess excellent computing skills and competent in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project
*Practical engineering capability with knowledge of assemblies and controls.
*Equipment validation and commissioning
*Understanding and analysing graphs and statistics and other complex information

Essential Background:

*Ability to work under pressure, planning and organising projects and people, and making sound decisions quickly
*Ability to work with little supervision (self driven)
*The candidate must have previously been exposed to the Manufacturing & Operations environment ideally within Automotive/Aerospace Assembly or medium/high volume series production.
*This cross-functional role requires a high degree of expertise in manufacturing technology, quality processes and tooling, and will involve the application of sound technical manufacturing engineering skills in both project and process based environments

Key Deliverables/Critical Success Factors:

*Develop new manufacturing facility layout, optimized for;
oProcess flow (pressing, coking, sintering, grinding/lapping, cleaning and inspection)
oEquipment and ancillary supplies and location
oManual handling considerations (for production parts and operators)
oHealth and safety compliance
*Budget and CAPex creation and management
*Installation and execution of timing plan for facility, in particular;
oDevelopment/management of sub-contractors
oControl plan and Standard Operating Procedures
oQC requirement
*Indicative manufacturing cost for each component
