10 + Years of Software Development Experience
o (8+ years of Orientated (OO) experience with Java/J2EE)
Detailed knowledge and practical applications of Java Design Patterns
Detailed knowledge of the inner workings of the JVM
Hands on and able to implement solutions as required
Practical Experience with the J2EE Stack including:
Apache AXIS 2.0 (SOAP Web Service Engine)
Java API for XML-Based RPC (JAX-RPC)
Java Servlets & JavaServer Pages (JSP)
Enterprise JavaBeans Components (EJB)
Java Message Service (JMS)
Java Mail Service (JavaMail)
Java Management Extensions (JMX)
Java Authentication and Authorization Service (JAAS)
Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI)
Java Data Base Connectivity API (JDBC)
Practical Experience with the following Third Party API:
Extensive knowledge of the Struts framework

Practical experience with secondary Java Application Server (ie Weblogic, JBoss, JRun)
Application Network Deployment Architecture
Operating Systems:
Familiar with the Unix/Linux Operating System

Process Experience:
Extensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Familiar with pro's and con's of methodologies used during SDLC including:
o Knowledge of the key difference between Spiral and Waterfall methodologies
Knowledge of the Rational Unified Process (RUP)
Knowledge of Extreme methodologies
Education:
BS/BA degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience
Certifications:
Preferred Java Certifications (Sun/IBM/Brainbrench)
Plus:
Practical experience with JSF (Java Server Faces)
Practical experience with Portal Servers and Portlets
Practical experience Endeca, a search and guided navigation tool
Familiar with Vignette, an enterprise content management tool
Familiar with Informatica, an enterprise data integration tool
Familiar with the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) from OMG and Interface Definition Language (Java IDL)
Familiar with Java API for RESTful Web Services (JAX-RS)
