SharePoint Developer Position Overview:

The SharePoint Developer is a thought leader and also an operational and technology expert responsible for developing innovative, creative and compelling solutions required to win profitable new business for our client. This must be able to working in virtual teams under the direction of the PMO Director, the SharePoint Developer is responsible for developing solutions consistent with and supporting the organization's strategic vision and tactical goals while successfully supporting our customers.

The position includes system design and collaborative integration between current and new systems/tools. This position will determine and develop cross-functional solutions for the entire organization. You will be a part of world class collaborative IT organization, providing and executing on customer focused projects. Your scope will involve global and local implementation and partnership within those projects.

Ability to capitalize on potential cost savings with department's financial targets with software quality and reusability as priorities. The SharePoint Developer must be able to evaluate an application with correct emphasis on these elements. The SharePoint Developer to possess the ability to recognize software patterns and the solutions associated with those patterns.

Maintain visibility into all aspects of the clients application area and align with the strategic targets with the overall landscape of the environment.

Job Family Responsibilities:

Guides complex research, design, development and implementation of new and emerging technologies, platforms and service. Researches and advises on an existing or emerging technology and associated services and processes. Develops requirements plans, solution selection and implements solutions driven from the Strategic Plan. Conducts analysis in support of complex technical architecture projects. Develops product configuration guidelines, training, rollout and implementation support for technical architecture projects. Applies advanced skills to independently resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices.. Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.

Responsibilities and skills needed will include but are not limited to

Key Responsibilities & Skills:

  • SharePoint experience including SharePoint API, custom web part development, site definitions, InfoPath form development, SharePoint Designer, Search, Web Services, Event Receivers/Handlers and security.
  • Expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting SharePoint workflows and custom solutions, including interfaces with 3rd party systems, using MS SQL Server and C# from business requirements.
  • Experience with Excel Services, Access Services, BI integration and dashboards in SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with application configuration and management. Can provide insight on functional and non-functional requirements related to technical delivery of an application.
  • Agile development and testing methodology as well as knowledge of SDLC.
  • Solution design and development in MOSS and all components; SharePoint ECM, Nintex Workflow 2007, and InfoPath.
  • Apply systems analysis, usability and design techniques to business requirements.
  • Produce innovative solutions for a variety of complex problems.
  • Provide analysis on project proposals and identify omissions/errors in requirements.
  • Contribute to project planning with achievable dates for deliverables while also showing agility in delivering quick wins.
  • Produce quality deliverables within a scheduled time frame.
  • Apply and adhere to IT Software Lifecycle Management principles.
  • Work in conjunction with colleagues to ensure effective resolution of issues encountered during testing and implementation.
  • Provide knowledge transfer throughout and at the completion of assigned projects.

Education:

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas. Masters level education would be a bonus and project management methodology.

Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates significant knowledge of organization's business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. Must be able to talk in the language of technical developers and then switch to the language of business managers. Typically 2-6 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.

Direction of Others:

Provides specialized guidance or train support and/or professional staff.

Primarily intra-organizational contacts and external contacts. Global project engagements
