ROLE OVERVIEW & DESCRIPTION

Our client, a leading global consultancy, is looking for a Business Analyst to assist in the deployment of a new document management system for the legal documents of one of their customers, a SuperMajor operator in the E&P sector.

The technology being utilized is SharePoint and the successful candidate will have worked on at least 3 major projects utilizing this technology.

Whilst the successful candidate will not be expected to get involved in deploying the actual technology, they should have enough knowledge and experience of SharePoint to be able to talk with confidence about functionality with business users.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • To function as a business analyst to the users who will use the new system
  • To draw out and capture the requirements of the users to enable the definition of functionality
  • To document requirements in such a way that SharePoint technicians can easily build the new solution
  • Provide a document repository service, using standard and supported Shell Group IT components, and integrated with the Group Records Management repository, to meet the business requirements of Legal Services,
  • Migrate existing content from the customers' existing document management system into the new service
  • To define the functionality of intuitive tools to enable filing and retrieval of information within the document repository that align with the Legal syndicates ways of working, notably providing access direct from Outlook,
  • To define the functionality of tools to enable documents to be made available within the context of Legal know
  • To verify the new tools once built, against the original user requirement and specifications
  • Provide a graded approach to training including train-the-trainer and a the design and delivery of a training course at the customers training facility
  • Decommission the customers' existing document management service.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Functional Knowledge of SharePoint 2010 (preferred) or 2007
  • Experience of shaping or leading a business change programme for a comparably sized business team (1000 people)
  • Experience of implementing business change and embedding new processes and technology - this is a hands on role
  • Experience in communications planning for a project spanning a global business
