Introduction
Engineer/Engineer 3: Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)
The Industrial Engineering sector is responsible for driving the operational requirements into the early design of products. eg Reliability, Availability, Manufacturability, Cycle time and plays a leading role in reducing operational costs by design and process improvements for volume products.

Main activities
1. Ensuring that, based on overall competence or on incidents at suppliers, in production, and/or at customers, structural problems are defined and solved in depth, closing the learning loop to ensure that new designs or ways of working avoid mistakes of the past. This applies to installed base and New Product Introduction.
2. Reinforcing Supplier Technology control and execution.
3. Supplier Engineering and Outsourcing.

Job Mission Engineer/Engineer 3: Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)
Create an able and enabled' team to bridge between Suppliers and Development and drive co-design activities.

Engineer/Engineer 3: Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)
Support outsourcing strategy to increase flexibility and focus on the ASML added value. Drive technological aspects between programs & suppliers:
- Drive technological challenges and requirements to the supplier
- Develop suppliers in new production techniques/parts/products
- Increase leverage of supplier technology & processes into the design project (early involvement of suppliers in design for manufacturing). Supplier Manager. Interfaces with Suppliers, Project leads Development, Customer Support, Manufacturing, Engineers and Procurement.

Job Description Engineer/Engineer 3:
Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)
Job content:
- Early collaboration with suppliers in all relevant Development & Engineering projects to secure technology expertise at the supplier and design-for-manufacturability (DfM) within the D&E projects
- New product introduction and supplier selection (through Auditing)

Engineer/Engineer 3: Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)
Execution of supplier-related new product introduction deliverables - eg manufacturing flows, failure modes & process effects analyses (FMEA), test tools and test coverage specifications, first article inspection & evaluation reports, supplier output control

Engineer/Engineer 3: Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical Engineering) will
- Helping suppliers to achieve competitive performance and world class efficiency
- Support suppliers with difficult manufacturing problems (eg yield and quality improvement)
- Consult on and attune improvement proposals at suppliers. Initiate actions to ensure implementation and execution.
- Failure analysis on quality complaints and nonconforming products and processes
- Implementing supplier improvement actions in response to quality complaints and nonconforming products/processes. Support suppliers with difficult manufacturing problems (eg yield and quality improvement)

Education
Higher Technical College/Technical University graduate in Mechanical Engineering (must), or Mechatronics (optional).

Experience Engineer/Engineer 3: Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)
Preferably 2 years of experience in high tech environment. Candidate must have experience in Supply Chain Engineering. Additional engineering or development experience is a pre.

Personal skills -Engineer/Engineer 3: Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical Engineering) Excellent social and communication skills in English. Strong negotiation skills for interacting with other sectors and supplier. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively throughout different levels within the organization
- Team player, but also independent.
- Result driven, planning and prioritizing.
- Analytical, abstract thinking, plenty of initiative.
- Sharing knowledge and stress tolerant.
- Service minded and a drive for continuous improvement. Candidate must be trained and experienced with Quality systems and -methods (preferably Six Sigma Green or Black belt), as well as Engineering towards production processes

Context of the position Engineer/Engineer 3: Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical Engineering) reports to the Technical Supplier Manager. Interfaces with Suppliers, Project leads Development, Customer Support, Manufacturing, Engineers and Procurement.
