JOB TITLE: Quality Assurance Engineer
Contract: 6 months

Serves as a consultant/subject matter expert supporting the organization in the development and implementation of formal standards and processes designed to ensure the delivery of quality software applications; evaluates the quality of and adherence to standards, processes, and procedures throughout the systems life cycle development through interaction with the Software Quality arm of the organization and their effectiveness metrics.Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Team lead for process research, design, implementation and training based on industry standards
- Performs duties with independent action and decision-making, working on multiple projects as a team member; serves as the QA subject matter expert for multiple projects of high complexity within multiple development environments
- Develops, analyzes and identifies trends in IT performance metrics.
- Provide specific business and technical guidance on SDLC processes, performance metrics/management and operational effectiveness
- Knowledgeable in one or more process improvement methodologies
- Gathers provisional/operational process requirements for IT software/infrastructure processes
- Provides a leadership role in continuous improvement focused on industry and Aflac standards
- Uses process capability studies and other statistical techniques for defining process capability, identifying and eliminating sources of process variability
- Promotes and executes a quality vision to promote process and product quality in all processes
- Leads the development of productivity calculations on projects and releases establishing functional sizing measure
- Performs in-depth analysis of business requirements and design specifications, and makes recommendations on testing
- Evaluates the environment, conditions, and criteria under which test case automation should occur
- Evaluates and recommends testing processes to improve testing effectiveness; promotes preventive and/or corrective quality assurance initiatives throughout the company; oversees quality assurance initiatives
- Prepares, maintains, and reviews test case documentation; ensures that metrics comply with testing and customer requirements; monitors and analyzes metrics for continual improvement
- Identifies technical and operational problems on installed networks, systems, and products; provides recommendations and alternatives for resolution
- Validates and documents completion of testing and development processes
- Provides technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced individuals, and oversees the training of team members
- Performs SDLC reviews and audits and reports results
- Collaborates with the Project Managers and Release Managers in formulating quality plans and performance to the plan
- Performs other related duties as requiredEducation & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field and at least five eight years of experience in the design and engineering of software development processes and standards or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience developing and conducting test processes for multiple types of systems, client users and/or units across an organization
- Experience with CMMI, ITIL, IEEE, ISO, RUP, Microsoft software process frameworks and related software development industry standards strongly desiredBehavioral Competencies:
