Description
As a part of the Systems Engineering Team, the Control System Interface Engineer will be assigned to a project team to work alongside the System Engineer and Project Engineering Manager to help develop and deliver the project specification through generating interfaces and managing and co-ordinating the various interfacing parties to close out all control system interfaces.
General Responsibilities
- Work with System Engineer to identify all required interfaces
- Generate Technical Interface content
- Work with project team to identify need dates for interface information
- Work with client and project team to identify all external interfacing parties
- Co-ordinate and track interface status to drive interfaces to a close in a timely manner
- Chair regular project interface meetings and participate in project meeting as required
- When working on an EPC project, work with nominated EPC interface engineer and other P&L's to manage internal interfaces
- Provision of input for the weekly/biweekly/monthly reports as required by the Contract
- Generate & maintain interface register
- Work with engineering to resolve and close out interface issues
- Support System Testing activities as required
- Support development of related company codes and standard
Contractor Ideal/Special Experience:
- The post holder will have good experience in Subsea Controls or other relevant Control System Industry, in both equipment and system design.
- The post holder shall have an engineering background, preferably with familiarity of Company codes of practice and relevant national and international standards.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and have an aptitude for learning new technology, techniques, methods and principles.
- Should have the ability to think laterally and be capable of producing novel ideas and concepts.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must be capable of multi-tasking and working to agreed schedules and be 'commercially aware' in engineering solutions.
- The post holder, whilst probably from a single discipline background (but will ideally have a broad engineering knowledge base), shall be capable of understanding all three engineering disciplines and will have an ability to improve the understanding and knowledge in all engineering areas.
- Familiarity with offshore, topside, and subsea Oil & Gas industry practices,
- Ability to work with and within a team of engineers having multiple disciplines,
- Presentation skills both within company and externally to customers of system proposals and system solutions
