Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer/Designer
Location: Cambridge
£36.00 - £44.00 per hour
Key Skills
Generate and develop 3D models and 2D drawings to a high standard (using
ProE/Wildfire 4).
Good Understanding of a wide range of modern manufacturing techniques
Thorough knowledge of high quality design procedures
My Client a well known manufacturing company based in Cambridge are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer
To provide engineering support and CAD resource to a multidisciplinary design and
development team. Be able to independently develop concepts and ensure they meet
specification and are suitable for mid-volume manufacture.
Key Skills & Accountabilities:
Generate and develop 3D models and 2D drawings to a high standard (using
ProE/Wildfire 4).
Work from basic design specifications and requirements towards a completed design.
Assess parts for DFM/DFA suitability, ideally within a medium volume, electromechanical environment (processes could include injection molding, sheet-metal, and
CNC machining). Supporting production jigs/and fixture specification as required.
Generate detailed tolerance stacks across assemblies and define critical dimensions and have a basic understanding of manufacturing capability.
Contribute to group activities such as FMEAs and Peer to Peer design reviews.
Help develop test plans and/or rigs to prove out concepts and final designs.
Report progress back to the Project Manager and help to maintain an accurate end date for design packages.
