Salary £31,784 - £46,663 depending on experience
Fixed term contract until March 2014

Our client's Sunderland Plant is re-writing the rule book on UK car manufacturing. Your skills and abilities will be stretched and developed on a daily basis. Their Sunderland plant is one of the most efficient and successful vehicle manufacturing plants in Europe.

Joining them as Facility Engineer, you will be responsible for the press, plastic injection, body assembly and paint and for the vehicle and engine assembly, cylinder head casting and machining. Through cross-functional working you'll ensure that safety and legal requirements are met through accurate risk assessments, safety device upgrades and the generation of technical file, whilst ensuring that you deliver all your projects on time and within budget. In particular, you will see a wide range of mechanical and electrical works through from concept stage to installation, modification and refurbishment. You will also provide technical advice to the maintenance department for the entire manufacturing process area.

In order to be successful in this role, it is essential that candidates hold a HND level certification or are educated to a degree level in either Mechanical or Electrical engineering. They will have previous experience working in either a manufacturing environment or a substantial technical/engineering background.

With previous experience in planning, schedule control and project management, you will have the ability to lead and to work as part of a cross-functional team, utilising your excellent communication and negotiation skills. Coupled with strong analytical and problem solving skills, you will be PC literate; with a good working knowledge of MS Office.
