Role & Responsibilities of Network Engineer:
Job Description:
- Clients Global Network & Computing Services (GNCS), within the IS&T organization, is seeking a Network Engineer to provide operational support for client corporate offices and retail stores. The successful candidate should have a minimum of mid level experience in architecture, engineering and operational experience in the design, implementation, and running of global multi-site network environments. Knowledge of WAN, LAN, Internet, remote access, security systems (Firewalls and VPN's), and POS systems in a retail environment is desired.
- Network Engineer must have very strong experience with complete Cisco network product lines and technologies: IOS, switching and routing, switching (VLAN's, Rapid Spanning Tree, Ether-Channel).
- Juniper and Netscreen platforms (5200's, ISG 1000 and 2000, Juniper M160, M40, "J" series Routers).
- RSA SecurID and/or Cryptocard VPN
- 802.11X wireless networking protocols and deployment. Handheld POS devices
- MPLS, VoIP, WIFI (WEP, WPA, TKIP), Systems (OSX, UNIX, Linux). Load balancing and SSL Acceleration experience with Foundry, Netscaler required.
- Network Engineer must have strong knowledge of the OSI model with emphasis on TCP/IP including Layer 1 through 4 protocol, PPP, HDLC, Ethernet, Fiber Channel, ATM, Frame Relay, L2TP, Microwave, SONET, SDH, DWDM, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, HSRP, TELNET, SSH, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL
- Security experience with Nokia, Checkpoint Firewall 1 and Cisco FWSM's, PIX, as well as Juniper and/or Netscreen VPN's. Must understand and have experience with IPSec, 3DES, AES, IKE setup.
- Experience with Unix, HPOV/ITO, network monitoring tools and Scripting a plus.
- Candidate must be able to work in fast paced and dynamic environment with ability to multi-task, design and deliver solutions in a complex environment. Must be a collaborative and team player and have a sound business minded approach to design and service solutions Experience in the design and support of Retail Store environments is a strong consideration.
