Description
Our client is a hugely popular online retail company looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer. This candidate will work with the team that owns the content and software driving large parts of the client's very extensive retail sites which consist of the product ads, catalog, search, and browse areas. The existing content and software are supported by a team of Quality Assurance Engineers and Software Development Engineers in Test. The challenge is to improve quality while increasing the efficiency of the quality group while also engaging in developing tools and frameworks for the quality assurance space.
The ideal candidate has great communication skills, can remove roadblocks, is detail oriented, and has a knack for breaking websites. QAE's regularly work with Developers, Product Managers and other Quality Engineers to ensure the proper operation of the production environment. During the development cycle, QAEs identify use cases, create test cases, execute tests, and report results.
OVERVIEW:
- Work with SDETs, developers and project managers using functional specifications to develop and execute test plans in support of project development.
- Develop and review test cases to validate content and software designs using scripts to replace manual intervention in regression testing wherever practical.
- Work internationally with overseas units to ensure quality is maintained on international sites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 2+ years industry experience testing software
- Proficiency working in a Linux/Unix environment
- Experience with QA process and Software Development Life Cycle
- Experience with UI testing in a web environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent eye for detail
PREFERRED:
- Experience with HTML, JavaScript, Java and SQL
- Experience with Selenium highly desired
