QACC System Acceptance Test Engineer

Job Description
As QACC System Acceptance Test engineer you will participate to the execution of system acceptance testing of IP gateway devices, typically bespoke following a specific customer's requirements.
You will define test cases or take over the system acceptance test plan of the customer if available. Next, you will execute this test plan and report detected flaws. You will investigate the technical issues reported by that customer during their acceptance testing and trial stages. You will be customer facing during those stages. On-site presence might be required depending on the customer expectations.
You must be able to function correctly in a multi-site and multi-ethnical project team. Customer base is located in EMEA. You are located in Belgium.
Your responsibility is to ensure that all flaws of the product in particular customer scenarios as assigned to you, get detected and reported as soon as possible.
You also have to realise customer satisfaction by a fast and correct handling of the technical issues as reported by that customer.

EDUCATION
Master or Bachelor degree in field of Engineering or Informatics or equivalent
by experience
EXPERIENCE
Some earlier experiences in the field of Embedded software testing for telecommunications equipment shall be considered as an advantage
Skills
- Understanding of common OS and SW concepts
- Basic understanding of the following technologies: Ethernet, VLAN, 802.11, USB, ATM and xDSL
- Good understanding of the TCP/IP protocol suite (incl. NAT, ALG, VPN, UPnP, DNS, DHCP). Preferably also in an IPv6 context.
- Some hands on experience with IP Routers/gateways and IP Networks in general
- Understanding basic concepts of the following applications and their underlying technologies: VoIP (SIP/MGCP), IPTV (IGMP/multicast) and DLNA/UPnP AV
- Any experience with following test tooling is a plus: Wireshark, Spirent Smartbits, Spirent TestCenter, Ixia IxLoad, Ixia Chariot, WildPackets Omnipeek and Defensics' Codenomicon
- Familiar with script based programming languages in general, with specific interest for TCL and Bash
- Earlier experiences in field of penetration testing and white hat hacking could be favorable for recommendation
EXTRA
You might have to travel for business on occasions, like visits to a customer's lab. The duration of those trips should typically be less than 2 weeks and their frequency can vary from a few times a year or even to some sustained period of on-site support.
