Skills: 3-5 years Automated Testing exp., LoadRunner and HP ALM Testing suite, Proficient in some or all of the following: C++, XML, .net coding, strong analytical skills
Summary:
The Senior Performance Test Engineer ensures ongoing and optimal system performance through testing, analysis and reporting of load testing scenarios, and provides consultation to the technology team to resolve issues and proactively reduce production incidents. In this role you will lead the Load Testing team in performing these tasks. Our client has a culture of fun teams with seasoned professionals who are talented, and knowledgeable. They are hard workers but this is not a sweat shop or micromanagement environment at all! This is a can't miss opportunity with an INDUSTRY LEADER, headquartered in Atlanta. The initial contract will be for 6 months.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee other performance team members
- Monitor and report on the progress of performance tasks
- Designs and develops application performance load tests based on application requirements
- Records, parameterizes and debugs LoadRunner scripts
- Designs and sets up test scenarios in the Controller
- Prepares test data and conducts performance load test execution
- Analyzes and assesses performance risks through load test results
- Monitors test results and reports using analysis tools
- Assists systems, database and network teams to quantify their capacity needs proactively based on analysis
- Acts as a performance consultant to the technology and development teams
- Makes recommendations on application design
- Documents test procedures, analysis and results
- Proposes and implements process improvement
- Develop formal test results documentation
- Performs other duties as required

Qualifications:
- Ability to manage several ongoing performance testing activities
- Ability to oversee performance test engineers
- Knowledgeable in automated application testing and application performance testing concepts
- In-depth knowledge of commercial load testing tools, specifically HP LoadRunner and the HP ALM Testing suite
- Detailed knowledge of LoadRunner functions, a necessity
- Proficient in some or all of the following: C++, XML, .net coding
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to identify performance issues in applications
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to be successful in a fast paced environment with multiple and changing priorities
- Works well within a team based environment
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent in experience
- 3-5 years of automated testing experience
