Our client, located in Indianapolis, IN is looking for a Systems Analyst for a long term contract opportunity. This contract opportunity is with a well known client in Indianapolis. This role will give someone the opportunity to get their foot into a great company that has a lot of technology driven initiatives happening over the next 2-3 years and if this person performs well there is a strong likelihood they could get extended beyond the initial long term nature of this consulting engagement or potentially hired full time. This person will be responsible for gathering all functional requirements and creating all documentation including functional requirements, use cases and business requirements documents. This person will be responsible for the intake of requirements to make enhancements to several existing systems. They will play a big role in report creation through SQL queries, and may also wear a PM and QA hat as needed. It offers someone the chance to have a variety of daily tasks in a stable environment. Candidate should have the following experience:
Required Skills:
- At least 5 years experience as a Business Analyst
- Experience creating various types of documentation including functional and business requirements, use cases, business meeting agendas, open work reviews, meeting recaps, work intake process, Business Requirements Document (BRD), test plans, test cases, etc.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Visio
- Strong experience working closely with developers, QA and technical resources
- Ability to ask detailed questions to get to the heart of true business needs and capture those through effective written communication
- Ability to translate technical information to non-technical business users
- Experience and willingness to work on requests to enhance existing systems
- Strong SQL Query skills including creating queries from scratch
- Strong understanding of relational databases
Desired Skills:
- Experience working heavily on QA related tasks such as creating test cases, test scripts, helping lead UAT, etc a huge plus
- Project management experience or PM related skills a huge plus
- Experience supporting warehouse or inventory systems or business units
